Amrutvel wins Sahitya Akademi Award 2022 in Goa

Maya Kharangates 2016 novel Amrutvel has won the Award in KonkaniSahitya Akademi announced its Awards for literary works in 23 languages.

Kharangates Amrutvel sheds Light on the struggles of a widow in the pre-Liberation era in Goa. It is more about the sufferings of Women in a Hindu joint family. It is the struggle of the character, Sitabai, and how she raises her children after her husbands death, she said.

Besides highlighting the plight of widowed women, the novel also tells the story of other women of the family who participate in the freedom struggle.

The awards were also given to five other novels, seven poetry books, two short stories, three plays, two essays of literary criticism, a collection of articles, a literary HISTORY and an autobiographical essay. The award for literary work in Bengali will be announced on a later date.

Sagar Defence has developed the countrys first Autonomous Weaponised unmanned boat with the capability for swarming. The contract was signed under anIndian Navy projectof the Defence India Start-up Challenge (DISC 7) SPRINT initiative.

DRDOhas tested 3 remote unmanned weaponized boats in Pune ahead of DEFENCE Expo.

TheAutonomous Weaponised Boatswere developed in collaboration with Sagar Defence Engineering, a private start-up.

The vessel is capable of relying on the video feed to theground control stationand can be very useful for surveillance and patrolling.

iDEXis an initiative by the Government of India to build an ecosystem to foster innovation and technology development in Defence and Aerospace by engaging innovators and entrepreneurs to deliver technologically advanced solutions to Indias armed forces.

The objective of iDEX is to engage industries including MSMEs, Startups, individual innovators, R&D institutes, and academia to provide them with funding and support to carry out R&D development.
