Telangana willing to develop a dedicated industrial corridor for French firms: KTR
Telangana IT and industries minister KT Rama Rao said the state government was willing to develop a dedicated industrial cluster for French companies, particularly Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
He said the state has a large land bank of about 2,00,000 acres with the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC).
All these lands are very strategically located and have the best of high-quality infrastructure like power, water, waste disposal, connectivity, he said.
On the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), he said the government would train people at its own cost, transforming them into quality human resources which also provides major employment opportunities to the locals.
The companies that intended to invest in India can mention what other states were offering, Telangana would meet their offer, if not, beat their offer, the minister added.
INTERNATIONAL
New Border Law Adopted In China
China has enacted a national law on “protection and exploitation” of the country’s land border areas.
Highlights:
♦ The new law has been enacted to maintain national security and manage border-related matters at the legal level amid regional tensions.
♦ The new border law will come into effect from January 1, 2022. It mandates the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China to counter any “invasion, encroachment, infiltration, [or] provocation” across the land borders of China.
♦ The law also provides a legal framework for hard border closures, if needed.
♦ The law requires the Chinese government to strengthen border defence, support economic & social development, and open up border areas.
International Animation Day Is Commemorated On 28 October
The International Animation day is celebrated on the 28th october aiming to honor the art of animation.
Highlights:
♦ International Animation Day is observed every year on the 28th of October to celebrate the art of animation.
♦ This day also recognizes the artists, scientists and technicians behind animation.
♦ This year marks the 20th International Animation Day as it was founded in 2002 by the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA), an International Animated Film Association and a member of UNESCO.
♦ President of ASIFA is Sayoko Kinoshita and ASIFA Founder is John Halas.
♦ ASIFA was founded in 1960, in Annecy, France.
ASIFA created the International Animation Day (IAD) in 2002, honouring the birth of animation.
♦ This is recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images, Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Paris, on the 28th of October 1892.
India Ranked 106th In 2021 FIFA Ranking
India has ranked 106th in the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Rankings 2021.

♦ The Indian team position was raised to one spot after the SAFF – South Asian Football Federation Championship 2021 of team India led by Sunil Chhetri.
♦ India has achieved the 106th position after beating Nepal in the summit clash.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually attend the 16th East Asia Summit held on 27 October.

♦ The East Asia Summit is the premier Leaders-led conference in the Indo-Pacific.
♦ Since its beginning in 2005, it has played a vital role in East Asia’s strategic and geopolitical evolution.

PM Will Attend 18th ASEAN-India Summit On 28 October
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 18th ASEAN-India Summit Virtually on 28 October in Brunei.

♦ Prime Minister Narendra Modi will review the status of the ASEAN-India Strategic Partnership and assess progress made in critical areas including Covid-19 and health, trade, education and culture with his counterparts from ASEAN nations at the 18th ASEAN-India Summit.

Power Minister Launches Green Day Ahead Market
Power Minister RK Singh on 25 October launched the green day-ahead market (GDAM), In a bid to further deepen the electricity trade in India.

♦ The launch will also present competitive price signals, besides offering an opportunity to the market participants to trade in green energy in the most transparent, flexible, competitive, and efficient manner.
♦ The big industries can go green, and the Government would make efforts to simplify business, and GDAM is a step in that direction.
♦ The Centre is working to implement the Green Hydrogen Mission.
♦ The market-based competitive prices will provide another option to renewable generators to sell power and accelerate the renewable capacity.
♦ The distribution utilities would also be able to sell surplus renewable power generated in their area.
